About Us

Al-Bayaan is a global, online institute built for women seeking authentic Islamic knowledge, wherever they are.

⎯ OUR MISSION ⎯

Knowledge, Wherever You Are

Al-Bayaan Institute exists to make authentic Islamic education accessible to women everywhere (regardless of location, age, or background) through live, online classes taught by qualified female instructors.

⎯ OUR VISION ⎯

A Source of Light in Islamic Knowledge

We strive to be a source of light in Islamic knowledge (in the science of Shariah, Arabic, and other fields of knowledge) for every student who joins us, no matter where in the world they’re logging in from.

⎯ OUR STORY ⎯

Vision

Sheikha Khawar Javaid founded Al-Bayaan Islamic Center in 2010 as an all-female seminary program, and it became a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 2013. As that mission grew, so did our reach.

Since 2010, we’ve taught students in person, year after year. Now, in 2026, we’re opening our doors beyond the classroom, extending that same seminary education to students everywhere, entirely online.
